By accessing or using SelfieLapse ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

SelfieLapse is a web-based application that allows users to:

  • Capture and store daily selfie photos
  • Create timelapse videos from their photo collection
  • Track daily streaks and view activity statistics
  • Export timelapses as video files (MP4, GIF)
  • Optionally share timelapses via public profile links
  • Receive optional daily reminder emails

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the photos and content you upload to SelfieLapse ("User Content"). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store your photos on our servers
  • Process your photos to create timelapse videos
  • Display your content to you within the Service
  • Display your timelapse publicly if you enable public profile sharing

We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not use your photos for any purpose other than providing the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Upload content that infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Upload content depicting minors in inappropriate situations
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without authorization
  • Upload malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and to terminate accounts of repeat offenders.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by SelfieLapse and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues or failures
  • Circumstances beyond our control

We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your User Content for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual photos or all photos at any time through the Service. Upon account deletion request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SELFIELAPSE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any unauthorized access to your account or data
  • Any loss or corruption of your User Content
  • Any third-party conduct on the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SelfieLapse and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through appropriate legal channels.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
